Need I really say more? You probably do not know, but I have an affinity for shoes. As if the world my world will crumble around me if I don’t have more shoes in my closet than I can actually wear at any given moment. Remember when I said I donated a bunch of shoes? As a present to myself for donating shoes, I end up with 5 new pairs in my closet. Clearly, I have a problem.

I love shoes. This has been my summer through shoes.
“The minute you think the past was better, your present becomes secondhand and you become vintage, it’s OK for clothes, not that great for people.”–Karl Lagerfeld
Honestly, I could learn every valuable lesson about life and apply it to any situation if I read “The World According To Karl” and that’s a fact. There’s a quote for every possible thing as told in a rather matter of fact way. I understand his bitchiness. I understand.
I learned a few valuable lessons while pressing “pause” and taking a hiatus. That I cannot take a hiatus because I get bored. I don’t regret anything because all things happen for a reason. I learned that lesson that it’s OK to actually to do what I want in life because it’s my life and nobody has to live it but me.
One of my best friends who I’ve been friends with since I was 16 just turned 30. We’re born 2 years and 2 months apart on the same day. Crazy. As I get older and learn lessons and actually apply them, it’s a great feeling. Now, I think the most important lesson on the agenda to learn before 30 is “How To Drive A Car”, that’ll be interesting!
Another valuable lesson is to always give your potential new people in your life an audition. It’s like trying on clothes but you try them out on social media sites and if it doesn’t mesh. BYE, FELICIA!
Somebody could have told me my shirt was not tucked!

Normal by day. Glow at night in Jeffrey Campbell Cura. This is the best shoe on earth if I dare say so. It’s one of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned. It’s an actual sneaker that I could go jogging in. They’re super cute. They’re subtle which for me is a bit of a change.
Just a simple shoe. White leather. Black laces. A bit of metal detail near the rubber sole. A normal sneaker that says “Hey, I’ve got style.” So you might actually be catching me in a lie now when I say they are “normal” because at night when the lights go off these babies glow.
I mean they glow in the dark and not a cheesy way but in a way that’s definitely going to make heads turn. Every store I went into Friday night someone complimented them. One person even said “It looks like a futuristic fashion jogging shoe.” I’ll take it!
Glowing in the car
Acid wash jeans with your glow in the dark sneakers
I’ve worn them literally all week. They’re so comfortable
Night jogging is not a problem anymore(probably more for the fact that I don’t jog anyways) and they’re so comfortable! I almost really want to get a pair of the Tronic’s because they’re high tops with silver contrasting. However, where am I really going to where these.
Note: The issue that I had with the leather tearing at the seam began to happen after wearing them. Overall, the joggers are worth the money. I hope next season they come back with a different glow color.
Note: Karmaloop & Jeffrey Campbell is a shoe lovers dream. They're always on sale!
Jeffrey Campbell has won my heart after the fiasco last year. Remember? Thank you Jeffrey for the exclusive deals you have with Karmaloop, it makes me happy.
Siren made for Miss KL is the best shoe ever!!! It’s an interesting creeper style shoe with a Lucite ombre platform sole. I was very excited when I received the box in the mail. I wasn’t expecting it actually be so heavy, however, they weigh in a whopping 21 lbs. I know this because I weighed myself and then calculated the weigh gain. Crazy, I know.
A fellow blogging friend of mine, had offered to take some pictures for me. Checkout InstantMilk‘s Blog! Thank you so much for taking the pictures.
What I’m Wearing:
ALLSAINTS Payne Mac Jacket- Great Trench
Topman Chino Shorts- Great for the summer with a pair of Oxford’s actually
American Apparel Mesh Jersey- Really cute & light. Nice fit
American Apparel Leg Warmers- Who can resist leg warmers
Jeffrey Campbell for Miss KL Siren- Lucite is heavier than you think when you used as a sole for your shoe!
I’ve finally found a New Year’s Resolution that will work for me. I own nothing that is really normal. Bold. Colorful. Graphic Print. Neon. Studded. Tight. Somehow it works and somehow I catch myself saying “What in the world are you doing?” I am going to buy normal clothing and shoes.PSSST! *eye roll*
However, before New Year’s a boy can always add two more things to his Christmas List right? I think I’ll take these two things over the Jeffrey Campbell’s Siren. However, walking around with a Lucite sole would be pretty bad ass. I think so anyways.
So over the summer, maybe it was early fall, I purchased a pair of studded platforms by a brand Y.R.U. They make all different styles of shoes, easily found on one of my other favorite retailers online Solestruck. What I particularly like is the comfort level that each shoe has. The loafers come in many different styles which is rare for a man to find. They have Cheetah print, moustaches, skull and bones, and a lot more. I bet you are wondering what would make me attracted to a loafer. Are you ready? Can you handle it? Nobody would even notice it except I would get lucky and have the kid who’s Hooked on Phonics trying to sound it out.
So I love Adidas Originals collaborations. I think it’s a great way to marry a designer with another designer and create amazing results. Respect Me from Missy Elliott was the first in such a relationship. They’ve known had other designers create collections such as Stella McCartney, Jeremy Scott and Opening Ceremony to name a few. Jeremy Scott, I feel though has been the longest collaboration. Angel Wing Sneakers. Bowling Sneakers. License Plates(Beverly Hills and now Miami) and surely who can forget the Teddy Bears!!!
A boy can add to his Christmas list just a bit more because New Year’s will be here soon enough. My resolution is to get a few normal shoes in my life. Things that effortlessly match with everything. Anybody up for that task? It’ll be fun!! We’ll see how long this reinvention idea lasts.
Over the weekend while in Los Angeles, I was contemplating getting the Jeffrey Campbell’s that I mentioned in the last post. I couldn’t decide between the Urban Outfitters version because their version is different from the Karmaloop version. This edition has “Love” & “Hate” on the left and right shoe. The other version is just the metal lines.
I believe I ordered them Saturday and splurged for the next day arrival.Well, I didn’t get home from L.A. until Monday and sure enough there were my shoes awaiting for me. Everything about this is interesting. The box is vibrant but the usage of color is simple. Inside the box there’s a note on lined paper. Cute.
The shoes are unique because they glow in the dark. They are all white. Black soles. Silver non-lace. It’s a curved metal band. There’s no ties at all. It’s tighter fit but I knew it might be. If I had gone with the Karmaloop, I could have ordered size 11 but Urban doesn’t have that. Anyways…….
I decided to take the shoe out of the box last night to try it on when I got home from the day. I stick my foot and sa I go to zip up. What happens? Tell me what happens? Yup….it ripped at the seam near the zipper. I had to double take to make sure that I wasn’t mistaken. WTF?! Jeffrey Campbell, we just got married last week and you want a divorce already?!?! I couldn’t believe it was happen. I thought I could get away with wearing. Being dramatic and upset, I called Urban’s customer care line as if my life was over. It isn’t ruined but damn sure my outfit for Friday night is ruined. I’ve seriously worn every shoe in my closet I think? I have one more option which would be these amazing Cole Haan’s that I haven’t actually worn yet but I don’t want those for Friday I want my Jeffrey’s!!!!
So anyways, Urban Outfitters is amazing. They were so helpful, we were able to get the new pair shipped off. Although, I assumed it was going to happen to both pairs and I noticed that they have another pair, “Krakle”, it’s not a high top like” Popp” which is actually better. They unfortunately couldn’t make the switch since they are two different items and I have a defective pair. Ugh. I just want my shoes for Friday night. Whatever, I’ll survive. If anybody has any tips or tricks on how I can wear it and make it okay, let me know because the shoes actually fit.
Overall, I love the shoe so far. I can’t wait to see it actually glow in the dark more. Unfortunately, I wish it were a bit sturdier to where something like this doesn’t happen. Krakle is cute too. If it didn’t say the same words, I’d probably entertain the idea of getting them as well. Oh well,I am just really thankful that the situation is being resolved.
He has won my heart. He has made me complete. Jeffrey Campbell, let’s elope! Aside from my other shoe designer obsession with Cinzia Araia which unfortunately I am not able to fit her designs(at least The Rabbit), Jeffrey Campbell is the only brand I want to wear forever.
Vintage. Fashion forward. Runway. Boho. Glam. Futuristic. Impractical. Functional. Are words that describe the brand and it’s truly becoming one of the brands to know around the world. There’s truly a shoe for everyone, woman or man. You can find a shoe that’s out of this world and rock star or you can find a shoe that you can wear to the office that sets you apart from the woman with the kitten heel. The shoes look great whether it’s dressed down or dressed up. Each shoe gives the wearer the ability to find a way to showcase their personality. The Jeffrey Campbell Girl(Boy) is a confident person who marches to the beat of their own drum.
As if I should be shopping at this moment in life but whatever. So Jeffrey has decided to torture me this Fall/Winter season and make available for sale either on Karmaloop or UrbanOutfitters…..GLOW IN THE DARK SNEAKERS!!! Honestly, that’s so cool! There are multiple types of sneakers, heels, platforms and more available from this collection. I really need (want) a pair.
Jeffrey Campbell, I ask you to marry me. It’ll be a great union. I’ll wear amazing shoes. You’ll have inspiration. It’ll beautiful. Think about it. In all honesty, you are so talented and your shoes bring joy to many people. Thank you!!!
Obsession Confession….What’s That? Started literally to kind of showcase what I’m obsessed with at the moment. Feel free to comment and share what your obsessed with at the moment. Music, Fashion, Food are some of my favorite confessions.
Who doesn’t love a good pair of shoes? I’m going to speak for everyone when I say that “Everybody loves shoes!!” To me shoes are an extension of the soul in a sense. You probably don’t realize how intimate shoes really are but think about it for a second.
Ready? Here are some reasons:
Shoes will do whatever we want them to do. We can dance, run, kick, strut down the street with confidence in our shoes. When we get tired of them….to the back of the closet they go.
A good pair of shoes that is properly fitting will last you a LIFETIME! The most loyal friend on earth we never have to worry about them not fitting us if we have a carb filled night.
Shoes define our personalities. Put on a pair of shoes and your stripped of all your other masks and left with your SHOES!
You can have as many or little as you want. You can’t really do that with relationships unless your kind of well….um(you thought it, I didn’t say it)
Love at first sight! Forever and always true love….Take good care of them and you’ll be obsessed for years to come. Put them in the closet for a few months or longer and pull them out of the box and say “Hell Yeah F*cking Right!”
The worst that is gonna happen is you might get a blister, run them down to the ground, or you fall in them and people laugh. A lot better than anyone else doing these things to you cause if someone gives you a blister “There’s an app for that!”
I was always obsessing over shoes I think but I didn’t realize it until I worked in the women’s shoe department of a clothing store. The countless pairs of shoes that women had to choose from. It’s unfair. Lucky for me that I am able to wear a women’s sneaker…..LUCKY FOR ME!!!! I loved helping women find shoes that fit their personality and I would give them an honest opinion just as I do when it comes to hair color.
Personally, I like sneakers or funky dress shoes. They define my personality, I could wear the simplest of things but the right shoe can totally change the appearance to make me complete! However, I do not use shoes as a method of protecting me from people. I think of my shoes as a connection to people.
What are some your favorite shoe styles? Do you have a particular brand that you absolutely love? I’d love to hear and maybe find a new brand for myself!
Brands A Make Me Dance:
CA by Cinzia Araia–Cinzia Araia created this sportswear line that would act as the sister to her namesake. Unisex shoes that have an edgy, modern yet wearable for the fashion forward person. Particularly The Rabbit which is my favorite of her shoes. I wrote a few posts about them here.
Jeffrey Campbell-Amazing shoes that really take femininity to the next level but with a grungy edge. Both men and womens shoes have this Courtney Love/David Bowie feel. I can’t wait to buy the Jeffrey Campbell Wordz!!!
Ralph Lauren-Comfortable shoes. Synonymous with luxury. Classic, elegant and modern for that New England Prep School student in us all.
Philipp Plein-Edgy. Sexy. Rocker. Chic. Glamorous are words that I would use to describe this bad boy of the design world. Take a look for yourself, you’ll fall in love!
