Designer collaborations and H&M are nothing new. Versace, Karl Lagerfeld, Lanvin and so many more have participated. One of the highly anticipated collections of the year is about 21 days away. If you’re a fan of Balmain, November 5th, Oliver Rousteing is making it just a bit more affordable for you to get your Balmain fix!
I have always loved Balmain. Decadent embroidered blazers, skin-tight tailoring and dresses adorned with pearl embellishments Balmain doesn’t skimp when it comes to the “WOW” factor.
However, when I look at the collection everything screams Kim Kardashian-West. It was really hard to look at the collection and say to myself “That’s fierce!” or “OMG! I need this!” In all actuality the only thing that really is appealing is the Balmain logo t-shirts.
Personally, I was really excited when I learned about it. After seeing the look book, I just don’t know what I think about it anymore. I’m a bit less than impressed but maybe in person it will have a different effect on me!!!
Summer is officially over. Fall has entered the room. Bringing with it everything from crisp morning air, foliage and most importantly fashion. Fall is actually a really fun season to dress up and play around with different trends.
GREY: An alternative to black, this color never goes out of style. Grey really is unique in the sense that it can take you from day to evening without ever having to change. Grey is a dominant color this fall/winter season but KNOWING how to wear it will set you apart from everyone else.
A white shirt and black tie create a super clean and classic look. You can also opt for fun colors like lilac or powder blue to deflect hues.
It’s in the accessories. Whether it be a fun patterned tie or a pocket square you’ve found a way to bring your grey to life. Stay in the same shade family within a few shades but leave the shirt the lightest.
COATS: It’s a personal thing, knowing which coat works best for you. Stay classic and wear a Pea Coat or a Topcoat. Simple with style. Add a little spice to your sweatpants when running to the store or keep it formal with a suit.
CAMOUFLAGE: One would think that this pattern is especially hard to pair with clothing but in fact camouflage is a nice subtle addition to any closet. Stick to one type of camouflage. Whether its traditional army or a floral, keep it to one pattern. Accessories, wallets, etc., are great ways to add small doses of this print into to your wardrobe.
These are just a few ways to get yourself ready for fall. It’s not set in stone because good style is about what works for you!

Boston isn’t necessarily known for their style. Not trying to be a jerk or anything but wear a sensible flat shoe to go from the office to the train. Stop with the running sneakers, socks and tights. It’s very frumpy and it kind of shows. The pockets of style are rare and even rarer is the real unique kind of trendsetting style that you see in cities like New York or Los Angeles.
While sitting at a show during Boston Fashion Week a few years ago, I actually met an extremely stylish woman. It was almost intimidating but right away we started talking about fashion. It just so happened she was a designer.
A few weeks ago, I attended her viewing party and absolutely fell in love with the pieces shown. The silhouettes were strong and structured yet with femininity. A statement without being a statement, these pieces were definitely designed with a Carrie Bradshaw type of girl in mind.
The hardest thing you’ll ever have to do in life is look for silver sneakers that don’t look hideously cheap. The other day while at my mother’s house, I realized that most of my shoes are probably in a donation bin making someone else happy. It probably happened when I moved out-of-state last October. Kind of upsetting……..
However, it gave me a reason to check my email for any mention of a shoe sale! Well….that didn’t happen but one of the emails was featuring a pair of silver Oxford’s that I am absolutely in LOVE with!
Silver is such a fun statement color for a shoe whether it’s a sneaker or a dress shoe. It keeps it fresh and modern but with a luxurious twist!
Life is life and the things that happen in life are just little obstacles that try to set us back. I’m learning that I can’t let those things define me because then what was the learning experience in that, right?
I was dreading turning 28 for a multitude of reasons. However, they really just ended up being excuses for not going out and celebrating another year in life. The older I get the less, I want to go out to an actual club(although I can still get down and dance) and I opt for a relaxing evening with friends. However, I was dying to wear one of the tops that I bought! Of course, I needed pants as well and I have to say I put together a super cute outfit. I’m still convinced that if I didn’t get my haircut, I would have looked rather “Basic” and that’s not cute.
Birthday dinner at Sonsie with Tyler and Racine. You always appreciate the time that you spend with people when you don’t see them everyday at work anymore. So that was a fun actual birthday night. Then Saturday night it was off to Oberon with Eve to see “The Donkey Show” which is an amazing version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Think Studio 54 meets William Shakespeare but completely interactive. I highly recommend if you haven’t been!
As I grow older and begin to actually care about the society that I live in, I take notice to the problems that we face. There are so many so it’s truly hard to start talking about just everything from politics, to civil liberties, healthcare, etc. There are a lot of problems in our society and not just here but all over the world.
However, since I don’t have a degree in any of those subjects, I won’t give my opinion. I’m sure that many people who say “Are you kidding me? ” “That’s not a problem!” “You’re a brat!” I’ll own up to the last one but this problem is one that plagues me quite often in life.
You’re getting dressed in an amazing outfit. It’s perfect from head to toe. Everything coordinates. It’s the right cut. It is your voice for the evening. Uh oh! “I CAN’T EVER WEAR THIS OUTFIT AGAIN”
A few years ago, when I was on a Ksubi denim kick, they had a Jeremy Scott limited edition pair which I snagged on eBay(great deal), I also have this amazing Alexander McQueen white tee-shirt, and a pretty rad Dolce & Gabanna blazer. Somehow or another the outfit works! It really does. One day I was looking through pictures and noticed I had it on in multiple pictures. EEK! How did that happen? Why didn’t anyone stop me?
Recently, I was in the mall and this store was closing down that place so they were having this amazing blowout sale! I purchased a yellow blazer white blue paisley and two interesting 80s style jackets. As I envisioned what else I would wear with these three very unique and bold pieces, I asked myself, how do I wear these pieces not just that first time but other ways so that I get the most out of my clothing.
Have you ever found yourself in this predicament? What would you do? How do you take your best pieces and make them key elements more than once?
“And I can’t stop thinkin’ about. About the way my life would be. No I can’t stop thinkin’ about. How your love could be leavin’ me. And I can’t get you outta my mind. God knows how hard I tried. And if you walked right out my life. God knows I surely die!……..That, I shall never, never breathe again. Breathe again!”
This is something myself doing quite often about you. As long as I can remember you’ve been an important factor in my life. It’s a different kind of love. You mean so much to me. You really do. I hold you to a different light in my life. I appreciate all that you done. The times through good and bad, you’ve helped me make it through. I really do and now this is really hard for me to say.
I think we need to take a break from each other. Just a little while. You’ll understand someday. I just want you to have the strength and courage to remain strong as I’ll do the same for you. If things remain afterwards then “We’re in this love together and we got the kind that’ll last forever!”-Al Jarreau I’m embarking on a different path and while I know you’ll be there right by my side, supporting me the entire time, I need to do this on my own. I need to appreciate you for all your worth! Appreciate the beauty of you! Treat you like you all that your worth! Can you understand the pain? Can you stand the rain?
Just taking a needed break from buying shoes that I really have no use for. Just trying to plan a little more responsibly for the next chapter in life!

Having style isn’t has hard as it looks. Yes, of course, most of the street style kids are getting their clothes for free so that they can look effortless and cool in their pictures, while everyone else has to buy cautiously to build that perfect closet. However, there are some helpful tips for what to borrow this spring.
The key thing to remember: Don’t copy. Being inspired helps(music typically inspires my daily life, clothes too!)The style that we have as people is unique to us, so let that shine through. From investing in designer running sneakers or how to wear the ever so hard denim on denim look, see which of these 10 Street Style Tips For Spring Style you can use.
Print. Logo. Bold : From internet symbols, racing stripes and literally off your public transportation. The typical floral pattern is always a safe bet but why not live a little and get graphic!
Let’s Be Tasteful With Our Camo: Personally, not one of my favorites. Ever. For some reason, this trend just doesn’t stay where it belongs. Do you plan on wearing camo to the office anytime soon? Consider camo a bright color. Now contrast with solid pieces. An accessory such as a bag, iPad case, etc. gives you a OOTD that is right on the money!
Wear Denim Together. Wash Separate: Wearing different color denim washes together creates an effortlessly cool look. Stick to washes two shades different from each other or you can always turn it up by wearing colored denim. Have fun with this. Why not try acid-wash, white, black or even super light jeans.
The Key Is In The Details: It’s the simple little details on a shirt matter! Variations in fabric allow people to actually notice your own unique style. A paisley elbow and a speckled Chambray are clear indicators of bold and boring. No matter how expensive a piece of clothing is, a guy really only feels confident in his own clothes. Style is about noticing things that others don’t. That’s why it’s important to develop an eye for things you like that your less fashionable friends might not notice.
Brave. Bold. Choose Carefully: I’m a firm believer that at least one thing in your closet should scream when you open the closet door! So why can’t it be your jacket. Camo is an option, plaid or another pattern that pleases your eye. Stay safe with Olive, Tan, Grey and Black. Remember if it’s too bold, you might have to wait to recycle that look!
College Dropout: If you live in the city, the backpack is like your choice of bag. So let’s change it up this season and let’s leave our L.L. Bean and Jansport backpacks in elementary school where they belong. Opt for a Herschel Supply Co.!
Your Denim Jacket Goes With Everything: Trust me fellas this is one of the most versatile pieces you can add to your wardrobe. They’ve been around for over a century. Hoodie? Wear it with a denim jacket! Dress code at work? Fight against conformity by wearing your denim jacket as a blazer all you have to do is pair with slim-fit trousers and an Oxford, your set to go! Thank Me Later!
Jog In Style: Well, I’ll pretend to jog. Balenciaga, Maison Martin Margiela and many more have in common? They have in common the ability to make sneakers beyond belief. Gone are the days of having a pair of ugly shoes to go with your “Casual Run Around & Do Errands” outfit. Futuristic. Sleek. Bold.
Neon Lights. Neon Lights: Keep It Cute or Put It On Mute. If you opt for trying this out, keep it pretty low-key by wearing darker colors. People will think your super stylish because you’re wearing such a daring choice!
Blacker Than Black: Black is one of the easiest colors to actually build your daily look from. It’s why it’s the uniform of choice among the fashionable. You’ll always look dressed up, super chic without trying. Tones aren’t the issue here, the problem your going to run into is fabric. Cottons and linens are great for easy to move in, breathable materials and looser fit tees and buttons up help you from becoming a sticky mess.
Just a few ways to reinvent your style for the spring. Be a bit daring. Everyone will tell you how dashing you look.
