Life is life and the things that happen in life are just little obstacles that try to set us back. I’m learning that I can’t let those things define me because then what was the learning experience in that, right?
I was dreading turning 28 for a multitude of reasons. However, they really just ended up being excuses for not going out and celebrating another year in life. The older I get the less, I want to go out to an actual club(although I can still get down and dance) and I opt for a relaxing evening with friends. However, I was dying to wear one of the tops that I bought! Of course, I needed pants as well and I have to say I put together a super cute outfit. I’m still convinced that if I didn’t get my haircut, I would have looked rather “Basic” and that’s not cute.
Birthday dinner at Sonsie with Tyler and Racine. You always appreciate the time that you spend with people when you don’t see them everyday at work anymore. So that was a fun actual birthday night. Then Saturday night it was off to Oberon with Eve to see “The Donkey Show” which is an amazing version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Think Studio 54 meets William Shakespeare but completely interactive. I highly recommend if you haven’t been!
I’m pretty sure by now you understand how much of a shoe addict I am. I discovered this brand YRU, late last summer at Thom Browne in Boston. Well, their loafers or “Lowfs” are pretty amazing, I must say.
They’re pretty obscene. Pretty obnoxious. They’re downright blunt and to the point with words spelling out “CU NT” or “FU CK”. I bought a pair of the Lavi$h on Karmaloop and I bought the Fuq on Solestruck.
Addicted to shoes
The box is even pretty
I wish I had 4 feet
Solestruck was the experience. Considering that they were out of stock and waiting on an order to be filled I was expecting to wait awhile. The fit is amazing. It’s going to even be more amazing once, the weather calms down and I can wear them in more. They’re comfortable. Soft. Solestruck also includes band aids that say “Shoe Addict” as well as a musical cd and a poster. Highly recommended.
Ever since I bought my Christian Louboutins studded loafers, I’ve been hooked on studs! Studded clothing is great. Studs give a little bit of edge without going overboard. However, you are entitled to go overboard and that’s ok too. Nobody’s judging!
Right now, I’m wearing studded items such as shoes. In particular sneakers, I think it’s super fun on sneakers and who doesn’t want to have a slight bit of edge in their style?!
Aside from the fact that it’s denim that’s slightly destroyed. It’s a 2 inch platform that is styling and profiling. NO, really though it’s amazing. I love the fact that I have some height but not too much. It’s a super comfortable and controlled walk except that when I wore them home, I literally fell as I walking from the train. OH DRE!
One Minor Flaw:
Since I’m used to walking in a wedge, a flat platform is a little bit more difficult to navigate but whatever. You live and let learn. Right?
